Description of the Selected Service

Programs and databases are officially registered with Rospatent, with the issuance of a state registration certificate. Services are provided by a Patent Attorney of the Russian Federation specializing in "Computer programs, databases, topologies of integrated circuits."

As a result, you receive a protective document — a state registration certificate — which serves as additional proof of authorship in case of conflicts.

The holder of the exclusive right may use the program in any manner not contrary to law, may dispose of the program at their discretion, and also prohibit others from using the program; the absence of a prohibition does not constitute permission.

Advantages of state registration:

— The certificate confirms the existence of an exclusive right when participating in tenders, competitions and grants, during corporatization, when obtaining collateralized loans, contributing the monetary valuation of the right to the authorized capital, attracting investments, etc.

— The certificate is necessary for reporting on research and development (R&D) carried out under a state contract.

— The registration certificate is necessary for protecting the rights of right holders and authors in court.

— It is desirable to have the certificate when carrying out operational measures to combat "pirates."

The exclusive right to a program and database is valid throughout the author's life and for 70 years, starting from January 1 of the year following the year of the author's death.
