Description of the Selected Service

The Eurasian Patent System provides individuals and legal entities with the opportunity to protect their rights to inventions and industrial designs based on a single Eurasian patent.

The costs of obtaining a Eurasian patent, which is valid in several countries, are LOWER than the cumulative costs of obtaining national patents in each of those countries.

From the date of publication of the Eurasian patent until the payment of the first annual maintenance fee, the patent holder is granted an exclusive right to the invention IN ALL COUNTRIES of the region.

Individuals, regardless of their place of residence, and non-profit organizations, regardless of their location, pay fees at a rate of 10%. Small enterprises, irrespective of their location, pay 30% of the established fees.

The owner of a Eurasian patent holds the exclusive right to use, and to authorize or prohibit others from using, the patented invention within the territories of all member states.

The owner of a single Eurasian patent has the right to fully transfer their patent rights to other parties or to grant a license for the use of the invention.

A Eurasian application can include up to 100 industrial designs!

A Eurasian industrial design patent is valid for FIVE YEARS from the filing date of the Eurasian industrial design application.

The patent holder has the option to EXTEND the term of validity of the Eurasian industrial design patent in the territories of ALL participating states where the patent is valid, each time for five years. However, the total term of validity for a Eurasian industrial design patent shall not exceed 25 YEARS from the filing date of the Eurasian industrial design application.
